It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robert L. Wiebe, founding partner of Wiebe Hinton Hambalek, LLP.
Robert’s passing on Thursday, October 7, 2021, followed a ten-month battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 68 years old and is survived by his wife, Therese, two grown children, and three grandchildren.
A highly sought-after consultant for real estate development projects throughout California, Robert developed indispensable industry knowledge over his nearly four-decade career. Robert also managed the harvest and daily operations at the family persimmon farm in Reedley.
Robert was active in many community organizations, including the Fresno County Economic Development Corporation, the Fresno Historical Society, and Fresno Survivors of Suicide Loss. Robert was an avid collector and researcher of art and American history.
“The firm has lost a colleague, a friend, a mentor, and a leader,” said managing partner, Frank Hambalek. “Robert instilled values of integrity, dedication, and client service. He cared deeply for his staff and clients. Partners Kevin Hinton, Ben Hubbell, and I are honored to be stewards of his legacy and vision.”
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Robert’s memory are encouraged to make a donation to the Central Valley Training Center, which prepares disadvantaged populations for the workforce, a project that was close to Robert’s heart.
